Hello, how’s October treating you this far, good I hope?!
Personally, October is my favorite month and even if/when things don’t go in a good way, I just love its vibes…Definitely has nothing to do with the fact that it’s my birthday month🤞👀
I managed to read some really good books last month that I want to share with y’all. Most of them are books I read as part of Becca’s Bookoplathon (you can read my tbr for that here).

Twisted Hate & Twisted Lies
I finally finished the Twisted series!!! I really liked reading them and I wouldn’t even mind rereading them some time in the future.
If you haven’t read them yet AND you like reading romance, I would highly recommend them! They’re not exactly a series that you have to read in a specific order, but it would be helpful because each book is interconnected with the others. There are four best friends and in each book, we follow the story of one of them.
The Girl from the Well
I’ve been eyeing this for a while and I really wanted to try out something from this author that isn’t a series. I finally caved and read The Girl from the Well. Honestly, I think it’s pretty well written. It was quite weird to read a book where the MC is a ghost, one that is not afraid to take someone’s life in the blink of an eye…spoiler alert: they deserved it. I just think it has such a unique perspective and it was really beautiful to see her develop friendships and like imagine what her life entails, you know?!
These Twisted Bonds
I’ve chosen to read this for the first roll of Becca’s Bookoplathon, and I’m really glad I finally got the chance to finishing this duology.
The first book ended on a cliffhanger and I’m content with how things progressed in this sequel. It wasn’t the best for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I think the end couldn’t have been better.
Sharp Objects
This was honestly such an fascinating read! It wasn’t as good as Gone Girl–at least for me–BUT I really really loved reading it. It was quite disturbing and there were a lot of things that are just unbelievably wrong. Nevertheless, the writing style was just top notch, it kept me from putting the book down.
You can read my review here.
The Final Girl Support Group
My first Grady Hendrix book guys!! I just realised he’s the author of The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, which I’ve had on my radar for quite a while and I’m now much more excited to get to it!
This actually turned out to be better than I anticipated. My full review will be posted soon so stay tuned for that!
The Ex Hex
This was quite a spontaneous read and I must admit that it perfectly fulfilled the vibes I was looking for at the time. It’s basically about a witch who curses her ex after they broke up thinking it was a silly joke. Years later, it turns out the hex is very much true and it’s getting a little bit out of hand.
It’s such a funny, quirky book that I would recommend to anyone looking for a quick entertaining book!
Harry Potter:
Sooo, I might have switched Pride and Prejudice at the last minute to re-read HP1. I started Pride and Prejudice–again–but I just can’t get past the 60 pages mark, which prompted me to choose another book for book published in 1999 or before.
This is just a nostalgic series for me and it was really comforting to visit its magical world again.
What did you read last month? What was your favorite(s)?!
